Question

Since the last QB update, I can no longer run expense reports that show checks and bill payment checks. I've gone through 4 experts now with no hope in sight.

Basically I'm trying to see all expenses associated with a particular customer.  I've done this for 2 years with no issues.  With the last QB update, I can no longer do it.  The expense report just shows things classified as 'expense' and will not show bill payment checks or checks.

I value your time and effort in generating your expense report to display bill payments and check entries, verityconstructi. Let me share more insights about this feature.

Yes. The report in the New Enhanced Experience displays Expense type only. If you have the option to switch to the classic view, tap that tab, then filter your Transaction Type from there.

If you don't have the option, run the Transaction List By Date in the old view to narrow down the result. From the report's page:

  1. Click on the Customize tab.
  2. Set the Report period correctly.
  3. Tap on Filter, then select the transactions you want to display from the Transaction Type dropdown.
  4. Hit on Run Report to refresh the page.

Or, review your expenses through the Expense Transactions page.

I know how important it is for you to filter to pull up the Expense Report to show all your expenses with checks and bill payments. While the option to filter the transaction types is unavailable, I recommend sending a feature request directly to our engineers to let them know about the feature needed. This way, they can determine what enhancements and improvements are needed to make our product more effective and convenient for our users.

You can directly click on Give Feedback on the report's window to proceed. Otherwise, follow the instructions provided here.

Once done, your valuable feedback goes to our Product Development team to help improve your QBO experience. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.
