Question

Uploading receipts from computer is failing for me. Tried every different format, each just says "We can't upload this type of file". What should I do? Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know in advanced that you've already tried the other supported format, nobukorino.

Have you also tried logging in to your account in a private or incognito browsing session? A possible browser issue might have been preventing your from uploading it and causing the error. Use these keyboard shortcuts to open an incognito window:

  • Ctrl Shift N  for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift P  for Firefox

Once done, log back in and upload your receipts once again. Make sure to use PDFs, jpeg, jpg, gif, or png image formats. If you're able to upload it, go back to the regular browsing session and clear your cache and cookies. Let me give you this article as a guide: Clear Cache And Cookies To Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks Online.

You can also use the QuickBooks Online mobile app for iOS and Android to scan and upload receipts and bills directly from your phone. Here's how:

  1. Install the QuickBooks Online app.
  2. Open the app and go to the main Menu ≡.
  3. Select Receipt snap.
  4. Tap the Receipt Camera and snap a photo of your receipt.
  5. Tap Use this photo, then Done.

Here's an article about this feature for more details: Capture And Categorize Receipts And Bills.
