Question

We are a non-profit. Been recording donations as a sales receipt. How can I change the statement to not read "sales receipt" at each donation?

I want to issue an end of the year statement with total amount contributed to each donor. I do not want "sales receipt" for each donation. Receipt would be fine.

Hello there, @ggevans47.

You can change the form's name in the Custom Form Styles section. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your company, select the Custom Form Style.
  3. Click New Style, then select Sales receipt.
  4. Click Content, select the first Header.
  5. In the Forms name, change Sales Receipt to Statement.
  6. Click Done.

For more insights, you can check this article: How to customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.

If I can be of help while customizing a template in QuickBooks, please let me know. I'll be here to help. Have a good one!

Though you can create reports for managements purposes, QuickBooks won't create proper donor statements with the required text - ready to mail or email.  Instead, use the BRC Donor Statements - QB Online , which will read your QB data and create the statements without any additional data entry.
