Hi, joesal.

I know that a business needs money to run, therefore holding funds from your company is really important. However, holding funds from a credit card's client is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. We do this to protect you from fraud and make sure your customer is safe as well.

There are various apps that have this kind of functionality and can sync with QuickBooks. However, I can't suggest which particular app suits your business. You can check with our 3rd party software that works with QuickBooks.

You may consider checking it out through this article: QuickBooks App

Also, in QuickBooks, it usually takes 2 banking days to process your customer's credit card payments.

I'll be attaching articles that will help you handle customer payments:

You may refer to this article what happens when you take payment from your payments account and few guidelines to follow to protect and manage your new account and also prevent fraud: Accepting credit card payments: The Basics.

Keep me posted if you have follow-up concerns about QuickBooks. I'd be happy to help you more. Keep safe.

@joesal

QB Payment doesn't offer such feature. You have to use use a 3rd party payment processor to do so.
