We receive payment at the time of each sale, but QBO generate invoices (by default), rather than sales receipts. Can we change the default?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Let me shed some light on QuickBooks generating invoices by default. In QuickBooks, when you've received payment, it will automatically generate the invoice once you collect payment.   

Once payment received, you can create sales receipts to record the amount you have accepted. If you want to reflect on the account, you've to deposit this payment. You should choose the corresponding bank account where the payment you've received was a deposit.
