Why had the search function changed in invoice to where you can't look up key words any longer?

Hi there, norshoreglass.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us in the Community. We take all feedback seriously and appreciate your input.

Regarding the issue you raised, I ran a few tests on my end and was able to replicate it without any issues. I was able to search for transactions using a keyword both on the Magnifying glass and the Advanced search function. Everything seems to be working smoothly.

However, I understand that you faced difficulties with the search function, and I'm here to help. One possible reason for the search issue could be your browser. Sometimes, browsers can prevent QuickBooks Online from loading the data when you perform a search. To solve this issue, I recommend following a few steps:

  1. Clear your browser's cache and cookies: This will help remove any temporary files causing the issue.
  2. Turn off any browser extensions or add-ons: Sometimes, browser extensions or add-ons can interfere with QuickBooks Online. By disabling them, you can check if they are causing the issue.
  3. Try using a different browser: If you are still experiencing issues after clearing your cache and disabling extensions, try using a different browser to see if the issue persists.
  4. Check that your browser is up-to-date: Ensure you install the latest version. An outdated browser can cause issues when working in QuickBooks Online.

You can refer to this article on how to view sortable lists of your transaction types. This will show you a sortable list of the selected types of transactions. You can click on any column header to sort the list by that field. Additionally, you can use the search bar to filter the results further: Search for transactions

I'm also adding this link to see what's new with the estimate and invoice. This article contains a new update with an estimate and invoice layout for QuickBooks Online that can help you land jobs, keep work moving, and get paid faster. See what's new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

I'm using the QBO app, and I can search work order numbers and customer names just fine. But I use to be able to search addresses and things typed into the notes section but can no longer search those things. This new update is garbage, they changed way to many useful features.

Hello, @norshoreglass-gm.

I appreciate you letting us know about your experience with the new update of the QuickBooks Online App. We'll be able to improve the level of service we provide our customers with comments like this.

I recommend sending feedback to our product developer team. This will enable them to review the request and potentially incorporate it into future updates.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top right corner of your screen.
  2. From there, select Feedback under the Profile column.
  3. Please provide a summary of the feature you want to request.
  4. Click Send, once you are ready.
  5.

As a workaround, you can use your mobile browser to log in to your QuickBooks Online account to search addresses and other things in the search bar.

Please refer to this article in searching transactions in QuickBooks Online: Search for transactions in QuickBooks Online

Furthermore, I'm adding this helpful reference to see what's new with estimates and invoices in the QBO update: See what's new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.
