Thank you for your reply. I suppose I could call support, but I've already spent HOURS (on two separate occasions) with support via chat & they've logged in to my account and talked to the back office (or whomever), to no avail. I am set up correctly for paper filing for NJ. The Chat rep's unwavering position is that e-file is the correct box to check. I gather from your reply that you think it is not. I'd tend to agree, but the rep was so adamant that I thought I'd try to verify. After all, it's a government form so you can't expect it to be straightforward. All I'm really looking for at this point is to know which box to check. If I can't use the Intuit Payroll generated form, at least I can manually fill out a correct form on my own. PS: Intuit also provided conflicting due dates (1/31 vs 2/28) and form numbers (NJ-W-3M vs NJ-W-3) in different spots. So my assumption is that the form got updated in a sloppy rush & as a result it's unusable for my situation, at least. Hard to believe I'd be the only one, though.

I am filing NJ W3 via paper, with W2s attached. The New Jersey W3 form asks for W-2 Filing Method - "Paper attach to Form NJ-W-3" or "E-File electronic filing". I thought "paper" should be chosen in this case, but Intuit Payroll checked "e-file" (and then provided all the forms & instructions to mail the paper), and I cannot change the selection. Intuit Payroll Chat support tells me quite emphatically that e-file is actually correct because I filed with SSA electronically. But that's federal and this is state, and in identical circumstances last year, the system chose the "Paper" box. So I'm still skeptical & looking for confirmation one way or the other: If I submitted W2s to SSA electronically, but will file them with NJ on paper, which "W2 filing method" box should be checked on the NJ-W-3 (paper or e-file)? Thanks so much!
