Jumporee is currently a very small company, in the form of a sole proprietorship, with 3-4 staff members. Sudha adds that Jumporee is self-funded and that she is not looking for any funding but quips that she may be need money soon when she scales to the next level. Excerpts from an interview with her: Tell us about Jumporee Jumporee is India’s first exclusive kids bounce house rental company specializing in creating clean and safe, party and play zones for kids at their door step. Jumporee has wide variety of inflatables to choose from (castles, bouncies, slides and obstacles) based on the customer’s requirement. On the event day, our trained staff create a fun play zone with the rented inflatables, monitor kids and let them have some pure fun, all at their door step. Jumporee bounce houses are created specifically for kids keeping in mind their safety and fun factor. They conform to US and European standards and are lead-free*. Our bouncies and slides are of commercial grade quality for safety, durability and reliability. We clean and disinfect our bouncies before and after every event. For safe operation of the inflatables, we have obtained advanced certification from the most reputed training institute (Safe Inflatable Operators Training Institute) from US.
What has been the key to your business’s success? Various things attributed to the success of Jumporee. 1. Planning and execution 2. Excellent service in all aspects – safety, cleanliness, professional service for each and every party 3. Having a good team is also very critical for business like this. My employees are the pillars of my company What are the major challenges in your line of business? Very pessimistic views from various people about the idea as a whole and people were not optimistic about woman doing a rental business hitherto dominated by men in India. Convincing people to understand our service, philosophy and the price difference was a challenge during the initial stage. Now, customers recognize our brand and service and they know the value addition we bring in to their parties. How did you overcome the challenges? Confidence and will-power, a Can-do attitude and the feeling that nothing is impossible if it is done right at the right time! We have also done extensive research before taking the leap and proper execution has helped me present my brand very effectively. My husband’s support is immeasurable during tough times. He is my advisor, critique, guide and supporter. Do you have a mentor who guides/advices you on matters of the business? My husband is my first mentor, advisor, critique and guide. Lately, I have two mentors who are mentoring me on different aspects. Mr.Venugopal, CEO of Vengo Ventures and Angel fund investor Mr.Vittal Bhandary, CEO of Little Elly concept preschool. Have you benefitted from the use of any specific technology for your regular operations? I have not used anything extensively but having a website presence helps my business a lot. What strategy do you follow for Customer Satisfaction & Expansion? Customer satisfaction is our first and foremost priority. We make sure to call customers immediately after their first call within 5 minutes. From the time of their first enquiry to till the end of the show, we make sure they get excellent service from Jumporee. We guarantee on time delivery and set up or else money back. We also make sure to get feedback from each and every individual customer about our show before and after. We believe strongly in referrals and word of mouth approach. More than 50 percent of our business is through referrals every month. Having an online website has also helped us a lot.
