Founded by three engineers Sanchit Goel, Prateek Verma, and Anubhav Goel, PepperScript is an independent publishing company based in Delhi. They provide a platform for new and enthusiastic writers with a hidden talent.
Their main focus is to offer quick and efficient editing and publishing services to budding authors. We chat with the founders.

An Excerpt of the Interview:

• What made you start your venture?

PepperScript, a venture of Pumpkins Enterprises Pvt Ltd was started with the intent to give young writers a platform to showcase their talent, guide them through the book world and help them accomplish their dreams. PepperScript’s sole motive is to promote talent and bring a fresher perspective to the literature industry.

• What has been the key to your business’s success?

In the publishing world, success is a long term result but for now, PepperScript has successfully reached numerous aspiring writers and the key has been continuous updates in our methodology and working style.

We at PepperScript, constantly work towards bringing out fresh stories with a new outlook written by confident and aspiring young writers.

• What are the major challenges in your line of business and how did/do you overcome them?

Publishing might look like an easy job on the outside, but on the inside, it requires complicated management and extreme persuasion to make a place in the market. Though we have not been in the industry long, PepperScript has made a visible space for itself.

The major challenge is to be able to market and sell the books you publish, as that is where the return is. Unlike traditional publishers, PepperScript has connected well with audiences via social media and gives them an equal chance to be a part of the publishing world. PepperScript has been aggressive with its marketing strategies and works in a transparent working atmosphere.

The authors are given due credits, appreciation for their hard work and are also guided by Team PepperScript to get to the right edge to their stories. And this bond shared between Team PepperScript, the authors and the readers makes PepperScript overcome the difficulties.

• Do you have a mentor who guides/advice you on matters of the business?

PepperScript is functioned independently with young zealous entrepreneurs, but there is always someone who PepperScript can look up to for guidance.

The fact still remains that whatever learning comes from experience does not come from teachings. We still have experienced business people who promote our idea of a young publishing house venture as an entity on social media.

• Have you benefitted from the use of any specific technology for your regular operations?

The kind of business PepperScript is, no specific or highly advanced technology comes into use except for printing purposes. But yes, PepperScript has benefited from Social Media platforms and with such advancing growth and emergence of new ideas every day. We believe that marketing will become even easier in times to come.

• What strategy do you follow for Customer Satisfaction & Expansion?

A good business has a very basic principle, let the customer make the decisions. So yes, PepperScript works towards bringing out stories that readers want to read.

Satisfaction is felt by both parties, as after reading the book customer feels like giving a 5 Star rating. For expansion, PepperScript has a strict tactic of bringing something new to its followers to find interest and entertainment in. PepperScript is always open to opinions and reviews.

• What, according to you, are the top 3 skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Patience, Perseverance and Product development. Rome was not built in a day and so neither can a business. It is a long process and in the long run, patience is every entrepreneur’s strength. Persistent behavior and the attitude of not giving up leads to success and gaining the respect of people.

If giving up and moving was always the solution then, big businesses would never exist. A sense of competition evolves when an entrepreneur refuses to give up after failing but at the same time, it is important to not be emotional and rather be practical.

If an entrepreneur cannot offer a good product, all the hard work will be in vain. A product should be developed to serve the purposes of every minuscule of the idea it was generated from. Thus, product development is the primary skill needed for any entrepreneur.
