Meet the Indian Woman’s new BFF- Baggout

The fashion world, now disrupted by technology will never be the same. But with the advances in technology, the fashion conscious Indian consumer is now faced with a new problem- the choice of plenty. What you wear to work, to party and to chill out now matters- but how do you find that one outfit that is truly you and takes your breath away?  That’s where Baggout comes in and plays personal-stylist-cum-shopping-assistant to the Indian Woman.

Established by Anu and Deepak Jain, they started Baggout because they felt that “Buying fashion online is a tedious task with customers needing to go through thousands of products to find that one dress made them go “Wow”. This problem is one of the biggest bottlenecks faced by online fashion commerce”

With patience and perseverance, they have gone through several iterations/pivots to hone the right product-market fit. Their biggest challenge? “To show relevant products to each user. There are two aspects to this problem – on one hand, we need to understand the user, just like a local shopkeeper or sales assistant does. On the other hand, we need to curate the best products from lakhs of products which are available online. To overcome this problem, we have developed sophisticated computer algorithms so that we curate the best products and understand the individual customer’s taste.”

Focused on keeping their consumer engaged, the team at Baggout aims to answer any questions on social media within 24 hours and have found that social media has been pivotal to gain insights on what customers are looking for. The Baggout team aims to keep their customer at the forefront at style trends, tell them what to wear and most importantly how to style it.

Baggout also relies on a team of top mentors who are from the fashion industry or those who have experienced building a big company from scratch.  Inputs from industry leaders such as Sumit Jain (CEO Commonfloor), Sumit Jain (Ex CTO – Jabong), Anurag Gupta (MD – DGM) and Varun Khanna (Director IREO) have been invaluable in guiding Baggout through different aspects of the business.

What’s their entrepreneurial battle cry? They believe that “Perseverance, Attention to Detail and Strong Leadership will lead any startup to success. Speaking of success, with help from Baggout, the Indian Woman is ready to take on the world and she’ll look great doing it!
