How to Write Social Media Posts that Get Noticed

2 min read

India has roughly 226 million social media users, making the popular platforms a great marketing tool for small business owners. But to get noticed, you need to create viral posts that are engaging, interesting, informative, and attention-grabbing. The good news is, this isn’t as hard as you might think.

Before you start creating posts for you business page, do a bit of research. Consider browsing your competitor’s social media pages to see what type of posts are working for them and what isn’t. You should look for posts with a lot of comments, shares, and/or likes. Then, mimic the post style. It’s already in a format that’s appealing to your target audience and you want your posts to get a lot of attention. The more engagement your posts receive, the more likely they are to show up in your followers’ newsfeeds and timelines.

You should also try to craft attention-grabbing headlines for every post. Some things to consider include:

  • Inserting a number into your headline
  • Write your headline in all caps
  • Use a colon or dash to include an informative sub headline

If you want your posts to get a lot of attention, you should write them in a conversational tone. Ideally, the people in your target audience should feel like you’re speaking directly to them. So when you’re writing, use the first or second person by including words such as “you,” “we,” “our,” and “your.” in your post.

The image you choose is also important. You should opt for an image crisp, clear image that stands out. Remember, professional images tend to stand out more because they are often brighter and sharper. So you might want to scour stock photo sites for good pictures to use with your social media posts. But make sure you don’t choose pictures you see others use a lot.

Posting on a consistent basis and interacting comments on your posts is just as important as crafting your post. It helps you build trusting relationships with people and increases your post engagement. So consider using the paid advertising options to get your posts in front of more people quickly.

You can easily track your expenses using cloud-based accounting software, such as QuickBooks Online, to ensure you stay within your budget. Then, encourage people to share your posts and reply to all of your comments.
