Hi, can some someone explain what's the difference between QB online and QB self employed?

I started doing my transactions with QB online, but I have feeling that QB self employed is what I needed. Is there a way to transfer data? Is there a way to export data into excel from QB online at all? I couldn't find that feature on the app. Thank you

Hi michael-britvan-,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

The QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Self Employed accounts are two different business applications. QuickBooks Online is designed for small business owners and provides accounting features like invoicing, expenses, track inventory, GST and Payroll. While QuickBooks Self Employed is available for free lancers, contractors and offers simple way in tracking of their transactions. You can refer to this link to learn more about the product features for each plan.

To be able to transfer your data from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Self Employed and vice versa, you will have to either use our data conversion partner which is MMC convert or use the manual import option using a CSV file.
