Hello there, info2373. The best way to accurately record your Shopify payout in QuickBooks Online is to split the bank deposit, which ensures that both your total sales and Shopify fees are tracked accurately.

Here are the steps to split the bank deposit:

  1. Navigate to +Create and select the Bank Deposit tab.
  2. In the Received From column, enter the name of the entity charging you the fee.
  3. Add the fee as a line item.
    • Select Bank Charges and fees from the Account ▼ dropdown.
    • Enter the amount fee as a negative number. For example, if the fee was AUD.2, enter -2.
  4. Once you have completed these steps, select Save and new or Save and close.

This nets to the $20 deposit shown in your bank while properly tracking both your total revenue and the Shopify fees.
