How likely is it to get a new bank offering QuickBooks bank feeds? Defence Bank offers bank feeds to MYOB so I assumed they would have it for QuickBooks, but they don't.

Hi, Scott. QuickBooks Online (QBO) currently doesn’t support a direct connection to Defence Bank. You can contact Defence Bank to request a connection with QuickBooks.

In the meantime, you can manually upload transactions by exporting your transaction history as a CSV file from the bank and importing it into QBO to keep your records up to date. This ensures your financial data stays accurate until integration becomes available.

Once Defence Bank is supported, you’ll be able to connect your account directly to QBO for automatic transaction uploads. Duplicate transactions may appear once you connect to your bank, so be sure to review and exclude them to maintain the accuracy and organization of your records.

Stay tuned, Intuit has been rolling out opening banking so all banks are required by legislation to participate. Meaning Defence will be there, new banks getting added every week.

Hello, thank you for your response.

I have investigated the Defence Bank side and it seems they are already registered with Open Banking and have the appropriate APIs available. I assume it is now on the Quickbooks side whether it is currently in the roadmap for future bank feed activation. Can you please confirm if this is the case, and if it is on the development roadmap?

Hello, Scott.

I appreciate the efforts you've made to connect your bank in QuickBooks. Currently, the Defence Bank is still unavailable. However, you can request support for your bank.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the All apps and select Bank transactions.
  2. Click on Link account.
  3. In the search bar, type Defence Bank.
  4. Since it isn’t available yet, choose the option to Request a provider.
  5. Enter the Account provider name and the Account provider sign-in URL.
  6. Click Request.

QuickBooks is actively working with banks and regulators to expand the list of supported accounts. You can check the latest list of supported banks here: Banks that support Open Banking connections with QuickBooks Online.
