I have quickbooks for my business in Australia. I am trying to add my US currency bank account but it doesn not give me the option to do it.

You'll first need to enable multi-currency to successfully add your US currency bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Accounts608.

The Multicurrency feature in QBO allows users to transact in multiple currencies, but it cannot be undone once activated.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Navigate the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to Advanced tab, and click Edit under the Currency section.
  3. Select your preferred currency from the Home Currency dropdown.
  4. Enable the Multicurrency option and confirm that you understand this action is irreversible.
  5. Click Save, then Done.

You can visit this article for more details about the process above: Set up and use Multicurrency in QBO.

Next, you'll want to connect your US bank account to your account by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank Transactions.
  2. Click Link Account.
  3. Search for your bank name or enter the bank's URL.
  4. Input your login credentials.
  5. Select the account you want to connect to.
  6. Choose the appropriate account type from your chart of accounts.
  7. Confirm and connect.
