How do I get the gst amount to show for each item on an invoice?

Hi deg86,

Currently, there is not an option to show the individual GST amounts for each line item on the invoice. The reason is that the amount is calculated off the subtotal of the line items which have tax codes attributed to them, which then shows in a total GST amount at the bottom of the invoice (above the total balance due). You can include a tax column to show which code is attributed to which line item:

  1. Go to the Settings icon (top right), then Custom Form Styles.
  2. Select Edit next to the relevant template.
  3. Select the Content tab and click the middle section of the sample invoice to edit.
  4. Ensure the Tax option is ticked, then select Done.

I would be happy to pass this on for consideration in a future product enhancement. If you have further feedback for product improvement ideas and any product concerns to help us improve your experience while using QuickBooks Online, please feel free to go to the Settings icon and click Feedback.
