How do I have access to IAS report instead of BAS only at back?

Hi there,

I'm new here. I normally use Quickbook to prepare Qrt BAS and I manually lodge it to ATO.

(For some reason, my Quickbook couldn't connect with ATO portal)

It seems that I couldn't find anywhere how I can lodget IAS.

The problem is I had been lodging IAS manually by checking Quickbook Report. However, until today, I realise that my Quickbook doesn't have IAS, and for the Last Qrt of FY20, it reports the whole qrter.

How do I have access to IAS report instead of BAS only at back?

Hi FCYAN,

QuickBooks Online can be used to report both BAS and IAS (quarterly, monthly, or annually). You can either manually mark these as lodged in QBO and lodge externally, or lodge through QBO but you will firstly need to set up your GST centre in order to do so:

  1. Go to the GST tab, then select Settings on the top right and Tax Settings.
  2. Tick any/all options you need (GST, PAYG-W, PAYG-I etc) and select the lodgement frequency for each, then Save.

Once you have done so, if you have not recorded a BAS/IAS as lodged in QuickBooks before you will see an option to 'Get Started'. When clicking this, set the initial lodgement period you are beginning from. From there, QBO will automatically set the periods and dates when you need to prepare either your BAS or IAS. The totals showing in these periods to be lodged will be pulled from the transactions entered into QBO in that time period, and you can also run and review your own reports as needed (GST Summary, Transaction Detail by Tax Code and so on).

I would encourage you to see here for more information on lodging your BAS or IAS in QuickBooks Online, and see here for steps on enabling e-lodgement (connecting to the ATO). As you mentioned you had issues connecting with the ATO portal, you may wish to contact our support team here who will assist you in ensuring your GST centre is set up correctly and guide you on ensuring e-lodgement is enabled.

How do I have access to IAS report instead of BAS only at back?

Hi Mandy01,

This might be because PAYG is not ticked within the GST tab settings.

Could you please confirm whether this is the case?

Go to the GST tab > Select Settings (near the top right of the screen) > Select Tax Settings > Make sure that Company Income Tax (PAYG Instalments) is ticked > Save.

Let me know if it still doesn't show up for you so we can troubleshoot further.

Kristian.
