Hi Devashree,
Let me share with you some information on Sales and Income on the Dashboard.
The Sales graph on the dashboard only shows the income entered as an invoice or sales receipt. However, on the Income graph it includes income entered as a bank deposit or journal entry.
Also, if a director's deposit is not considered as an income on your business, it would be best to check the account type you've used for that account on your Chart of Accounts. You can try to check this article on how to record an owner's contribution or capital investment in your business
You can compare the amount showing on the Sales graph to Sales by Customer Summary report. And for Income, you can check on Profit and Loss report. Sales/income entered as an invoice or sales receipt will be allocated to the Income Account you've set on a Products and Services.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day, Devashree!
