When I add gst to a quote it doesn’t add it on the total how do you do this

It’s great to see you today, @andy39.


Welcome to the Online Community. To add the GST, let’s change the code to Exclusive of Tax.


Here’s how:

 

  1. In your company, tap the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings under Your Company.

  2. This action will lead you to the Account and Settings page.
  3. From there, choose the Advanced menu on the left panel and then click the Pencil icon for Accounting.

  4. Go to the Default tax rate selection section and hit the drop-down to select Exclusive of Tax.

  5. Click Save and Done.
     

The next time you create any transactions, QuickBooks will automatically add the GST. Since you’ve already created a quote, let’s open it and then update the code to the correct one.

 

  1. On the Quote page, go to the Amounts are section and click the drop-down to choose Exclusive of Tax.

  2. Once done, hit the Save/Save and close button.
