Invite your clients to QuickBooks Time

This document is for accounting professionals who manage multiple clients. Working in Accountant view gives you full administrative access to your clients' QuickBooks Time accounts. Exception: You will have only view rights to Schedule.

Notes:

  • If your client is not currently using QuickBooks Time, and they set up an account via the email below, you receive a commission!
  • When a client has accepted your access request, their status in the Manage Clients window will change to Active. Statuses are updated every five minutes. If it hasn't been that long, at the top right, select the X to close the window, and reopen it.

Invite your clients to QuickBooks Time

  1. In QuickBooks Time, at the top right, select your name.
  2. Select Client access, then MANAGE.
  3. Select Add Clients, then Invite clients.
  4. In the box, enter client email addresses (using a comma to separate each one), and select Send Request.

The email invitation expires after two weeks. A new invitation can be sent anytime from the Client Access window.

Set up your client's company in QuickBooks Time

  1. In QuickBooks Time, at the top right, select your name.
  2. Select MANAGE next to Client Access.
  3. Select Add Clients, then Create client account.
  4. On the form, enter your client's basic information.
  5. Review the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy, and select Agree & Create Account. You will be guided through company setup, followed by inviting your client to QuickBooks Time. They will receive an email similar to the one shown below.
  6. To get back to your account, at the top, select Back to my account.
