Hi all, I have set up a new invoice default template but when I go to create a new invoice, the default goes back to QBO's own version. Any advice? Thanks!

Hello there. Thanks for sharing your concern in the Community forum.

Normally, changing the default invoice template will not affect your historical invoices. Let's do the basic troubleshooting steps to rectify this.

We can start by accessing your QuickBooks Online account in a private or incognito window. Then, create an invoice once again. If the new default template is working, return to your regular browser and clear the cache. Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can cause issues with the loading of updated templates.

If the same thing happens, switch to a different supported browser like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari to check if the issue is specific to the browser you were using. Sometimes, browser extensions or add-ons can interfere with how certain websites function.

In the meantime, if this still doesn't fix the issue, we can manually check if the template was selected when creating an invoice. I'll show you how:

  1. Open your QBO account.
  2. Select the +New button, then Invoice.
  3. Fill in the necessary fields.
  4. Click Customise at the bottom of the page. Then, check the template you want.

  5. Then click Print or Preview two times to double-check the template.
  6. Once done, select Save.

Please reach out again if you have additional questions related to the templates or other concerns with your account. I'd be glad to provide the steps. Have a good day!
