Hello there, @Jacksoncroucher.

Let's verify if the browser is causing this error message, log in to QuickBooks in a private browser. Let's follow the recommendation below to resolve this unexpected behavior.

  1. Refresh your browser by clicking the Reload icon or pressing F5 on your keyboard.
  2. If the same thing happens, we can log in to your account through an incognito window. This mode doesn't store cache that's why we recommend using it.

If it works fine, we can clear the cache of your regular browser. This helps remove any browser-related issues and refresh your browser's settings. Aside from that, you can use other compatible browsers in QuickBooks Online. Below are the things that you can try on:

  • Mozilla
  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • For Safari, make sure to use the latest one.

Also, make sure that you're attachments meet the specific requirements. Here are the file types you can attach in customer and vendor profiles, as well as their transactions:

  • PDF
  • JPEG
  • PNG
  • DOC
  • XLSX
  • CSV
  • TIFF
  • GIF
  • XML

For additional tips, you can check this article: Attachments in QuickBooks Online.

Know that you can always tap me on my shoulder if you ever need anything else with QuickBooks. I'll be around to back you up. Stay safe Jacksoncroucher!

I am having a similar issue

When adding attachments to an invoice, if I drag and drop a pdf as an attachment to an invoice it gets stuck on 0%. I then click the x to remove the attachment, redrop it and it show 100%. I check the box to attach and then click OK and I get the error that it has not attached despite the message saying it was. See attachments.
I am using chrome Version 116.0.5845.180 (Official Build) (64-bit) with Windows 11 on a laptop. I also tried this with Firefox and had the same results. I am on WiFi with a strong signal.

I tried private mode and had the same experience

Thanks for your reply @JamesAndrewM

I just tried to contact support and your assistant says that support channels are closed.  Your message indicated that support is open on S - S from 8 am to 8 pm.  What am I missing?

@JamesAndrewM

Good News, I figured it out.  My dropbox system did not have my files stored locally.  That was causing the system to hang.  I simply made my files available off-line by BOTH selecting that in the Dropbox App preferences AND by right clicking on my Dropbox root folder and selecting "Make Available Off-line".

I hope this helps anyone else that may run into this in the future.
