I've started using timesheets. The services charged are inclusive of tax. But when I process the timesheets to invoices the invoices show exclusive of tax.

Hi gavin4,

Thanks for reaching out. You may need to check your default tax rate selection in QuickBooks and adjust this if required:

  1. Go to the Settings icon (top right corner), then Account and Settings.
  2. Select Advanced and click on the first segment 'Accounting'.
  3. Review the 'Default tax rate selection', change this to Inclusive of Tax, and Save

thanks for the reply Kass. It is already set to "Inclusive" in Setting.
When I produce invoices its Inclusive. But when I use timesheets it defaults to exclusive. I can't see any way to make it otherwise.  As I said the individual service items are set to Inclusive as well.
Also, I have the "Automatically invoice unbilled activity" turned on. So the invoices created are automated, and are created from Time charges. I am wondering if this automation doesnt take into account the default settings somehow? When I manually "Create Invoice" from a Time Charge it does take into account the tax setting and create the invoice with tax inclusive. So it seems the "Automatically invoice unbilled activity" might be the cause of the issue.

Hi gavin4,

As I am unable to recreate this particular behaviour, in this case it may be best if you can contact our support directly at your convenience. The team can view your settings and sales forms in real time and then do further testing to determine the cause and offer solutions as may be available. You can do so by:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online, click the Help menu in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Contact us and enter the details of your concern.
  3. Click Let's talk and choose Chat or Get a callback.
  4. Enter the required information.
