Hi there, tanhowyin.

I know how convenient for you to take photos of your receipt using the mobile app. I can give details to fix this for you.

At this time, there are no reported cases about unable to take photos of receipts in the QuickBooks Mobile app. The snap feature is working perfectly fine. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix it.

Let's start by refreshing your data. This way, it will remove all stored data in the app that prevent you from taking photos of your receipt.

Here's how:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online Mobile App, go to the Gear or Setting icon.
  2. Choose the Refresh Data menu.
  3. Tap Yes to refresh.

Then, you can take photos again. If still the same, please try to use 4G if you're using wifi connection. To further isolate, you can uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks Online mobile app. This ensures that you have the most updated version.

Alternatively, you can access your QuickBooks Online(QBO) account through your phone or computer-supported browser. From there, you can follow these easy steps to add or upload your receipt: Upload your receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Don't hesitate to add any details below if you need further assistance with the snap feature. I'll be right back with more details. Take care always!

I have tried to Refresh Data as per the instructions.

Also tried turning off wifi to use mobile data

Uninstalled and reinstalled twice.

Nothing seems to work.

I am using a Xiaomi Poco X3 with Android 11.

Any other solutions? This only started happening a couple of weeks ago.

I managed to fix this myself. I had to turn on MIUI Optimisation.

I am using a Xiaomi Poco X3. Issue started happening after upgrade to MIUI v12 (Android 11)

First enable Developer options by tapping on the MIUI version in About phone several times.

Then go to Additional Settings -> Developer options. Scroll down to the bottom and Turn on MIUI optimisation.
