It appears that Quickbooks has removed the bank feed with paypal unless you convert to a business account that accepts paypal -is this correct? How can they just do this?

This is the second iteration of quickbooks removing bank feeds and not providing proper advice. When they removed Bank Australia feeds they told us for more than 6 weeks that there was an issue that they didn't know how to resolve. It actually turns out that they no longer had the direct feeds from Bank Australia. If I have to import all bank and paypal transactions manually then what is the point?!

I can share some information about the error you're having with PayPal, Caroline.

Can you tell me more about the error you're encountering with PayPal? That will help us resolve the error you're having.

There's an ongoing issue with PayPal. Our customers are encountering errors 101 or 185. Our Product Engineering team is already aware of this and is now working on the connection between PayPal and QuickBooks Online.

However, if you have a business PayPal account, you can connect the Accept Payments with the PayPal app which will restore your bank feeds. Refer to this article for further guidance: Set up the Accept Card Payments with PayPal app in QuickBooks Online

While we're still working on a fix, you can manually add your bank transactions through the WebConnect process. Here's more information about downloading the transactions from the bank. Then, upload the file to your account: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Please know that you can always drop by here if you need any help with your bank account transactions. I will be happy to assist you further. Have a wonderful day!

We have been getting the an error 103 with Paypal bank feeds for almost a month now. Will this ever be resolved?

We have tried updating out login but continue to get the same message.

Hi freedom93,

Thanks for joining the thread. We currently have an ongoing product investigation with PayPal accounts getting error 101/185/103 in QuickBooks Online. Our engineers are aware of this error and are working with PayPal to work for a resolution.

In the meantime, you can manually upload your transactions using CSV file or if you have a PayPal business account, you can connect them as an app by click on Apps tab and search for Accept Payments with PayPal.

I would also recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. That way, they can add your account to the affected users with getting an error for Paypal account in QBO. And you'll get notification updates as soon as new fix has been deployed.

Feel free to post your concerns in the Community or click the Reply button for follow-up questions. We'll be happy to help. Have a good day!

My suspicions that this seems to be a money-grab between paypal and quickbooks (wanting you to sign up for a business paypal account) appear to be confirmed. I was unable to connect my old paypal bank account through quickbooks due to the 103 error (saying account details needed to be updated and that the details did not work), so I set up a new paypal bank account in Quickbooks and guess what, it connected straight away with those same details. Lo and behold the new paypal account now also has the 103 error where it is asking me to update the paypal details, which were already proven to be correct 2 days ago. Why is Quickbooks removing access to standard paypal bank feeds and why can't they be transparent about it?

I appreciate for getting back with the details of your concern, caroline.

As my colleague mentioned in this thread, there’s an ongoing investigation about customers getting errors 101 and 185, which now include error 103. I understand the inconvenience it has caused to everyone, as we value your time in managing your bank feeds.

Right now, our engineers are working on this to get it sorted out and resolved as soon as possible. Since they are working on this internally, please know that we cannot provide a turnaround time regarding their efforts.

In the meantime, you can follow the suggestion added by my peer, MJoy_D, in utilizing your business PayPal account by connecting Accept Payments with the PayPal app, which would restore your bank feeds. Or, upload your transactions manually using a CSV file.

Moreover, to ensure you'll get an update about the resolution status, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. This way, they can add your company file to the list of affected users and provide this investigation number for easy tracking: INV-92150.

To reach them, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the Help button.
  3. In the QuickBooks Assistance chat box, select Talk to a human and or tap the Contact Us button at the bottom.
  4. Then, type in your reason for contacting us in the What can we help you with? Box and click Continue.
  5. From there, choose a way to connect with us; either to Chat with us, get a Callback, or call our support line directly by getting our Phone number.

Additionally, refer to this article for other options when contacting them. You can also scroll down to the bottom to see their support schedule and hours: QuickBooks Online Support.

We appreciate your patience while we’re working on this one. Stay safe!
