When I try to add my other email addresses for receipt forwarding I'm asked to create a new account for each email. Does anyone know if this can be avoided?

I have 3 email addresses so if I forward a receipt from one that's not the registered email with QB it won't accept it. So I have tried to add my other email addresses but the 'invite' asks me to set up an account. I don't want 3 accounts! Any tips on how to work around this?

I'll share more details about the receipt forwarding concern within QuickBooks Online, Dishmoptop.

When you utilise the receipt forwarding feature, QuickBooks will require the setup of a user for security purposes. QBO prioritizes the security of your financial data. By requiring a user profile for each email address, we ensure that only authorized people can forward the receipts. It keeps your records accurate and prevents any unwanted activity.

If you haven’t set up users yet, please follow the steps below on how to do it:

  1. Select Settings ⚙, then select Manage Users.
  2. Select Add a User, then enter the user’s name and email address.
  3. Note: Special characters aren’t allowed other than a period on the user’s name. For the email field, you can use a period and the @ character.
  4. Select the Roles ▼ dropdown, then select the role you want to assign to the user.
  5. Review the features this role gives access to. You can expand each section.
  6. Select the Account management settings you want to manage (if applicable for the chosen role).
  7. Select Send invitation.

Once done, give a standard permission to forward your receipts. If you want to, here is an article that guides you: User Roles and Access Rights in QuickBooks Online.

However, if you don't want to set up user profiles for the other three emails, you can consider sending the receipts from unregistered ones to your registered email and then forward them to QBO.
