Can i get my account reset, to start fresh?

You're at the right place for an answer, @samuelblake14-gm. I hope you're having a wonderful day.

I'll make sure you can wipe out your company data and start from scratch. Glad to provide various options to erase your organization based on how long you've used QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes, you can reset your company as long as your account is within 90 days of registration and you're using QBO Plus, Essentials, or Simple Start versions.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO, then change the URL. Example: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage to https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany
  2. Type YES, then click OK
  3. Click Wipe Data. Once done, you'll be redirected to your home page.

After this, you now have a new account and can re-enter the data. For additional reference about this action, read this article: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online

If it's 90 days old or older, you have two options to deal with this situation. Either cancel your account, then start a new membership or use a third-party app. Canceling your account will lose special offers or discounts on your subscription. Let me give you the instructions in both scenarios.

Here's how to cancel:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Billing and subscription tab.
  3. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel.
  4. Follow the online instructions.

We retain your data for one year, and you've read-only access. We then delete the data. Ensure to have a copy of your data for your future reference.

To create a new company:

  1. Go to the Plan and Pricing page, then click Select on the version you want to subscribe to.
  2. Choose Continue without payroll if you don't need to add any service.
  3. Click Checkout, then create a new Intuit account. You can use the same user ID and a password you previously had so you can quickly switch your companies
  4. Follow the on-screen steps.

After that, you can now set up your QuickBooks settings to get started. For the complete steps, check out our video tutorial: Get started with QuickBooks Online.

To utilize a 3rd party deleter tool, here's how:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks Apps store page.
  2. Type Delete in the search box.
  3. Pick a tool in the list and follow the online instructions.

Additionally, you have an option to contact our support team for more alternatives and further assistance. See this article for the steps and their availability: QuickBooks Online Support.

@samuelblake14-gm

If you are using QBO Simple Start, you should open a new account and cancel the old one.

Thank you.

I did the purge last night and have spent the day sorting things back out, glad i know that can be done now.

Exactly what i needed to avoid setting up another subscription.
