Is Payroll included in basic QBO subscription? If so, how do I set it up? When I select “Employee” in the menu it goes to a blank screen & does nothing?

QuickBooks Payroll can be added to your QuickBooks Online plan. You can sign up for payroll by going to Employees tab and select Choose your plan. There are two payroll plans you can choose from, Standard or Advanced. Since your Employees tab is showing as blank, let's try to check on your browser settings and ensure that you've enabled third party cookies.

 

Safari

 

  1. Go to the Safari menu and select Preferences.
  2. Click on the Privacy tab and under the Cookies and website data section, ensure the Block all cookies and the Prevent cross-site tracking option is not selected.

 

Firefox

 

  1. From the Settings menu, select Options.
  2. Select the Privacy menu on the left and ensure that the following options are set:
  • under the History section, the Use custom settings for history option is selected
  • Accept cookies from sites option is ticked
  • Accept third party cookies option is set to Always

 

Chrome

 

  1. From the menu, click Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the settings screen and click Show advanced settings.
  3. Under the Privacy header, click the Content Settings button.
  4. Under the Cookies section, ensure the Block third-party cookies and site data option is not ticked.
