It appears the financial year to date option has disappeared from the home widget. is it possible to get it back?

I'm glad you came here, Stephen.

Allow me to guide you in showing the year-to-date option of your financial standing in the Home dashboard of QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Please know that the Financial year-to-date tab isn't available in the dashboard. However, if you're referring to the Profit & Loss and Expenses view in the Home dashboard, you can customise the layout and include them.

Here's how:

  1. From the Home dashboard, click Customise Layout.
  2. Tap Add or remove widgets.
  3. Ensure that the Profit & Loss and Expenses are checked. Then, Save.
  4. Click the Save icon beside the Add or remove widgets tab.
  5. In the Profit & Loss and Expenses display, click the dropdown icon beside them. After that, select This year to date.

If the issue persists, let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to determine if this is a browser-related concern. The initial step is to access your QBO account via a private browser.

This doesn't store cache files that may cause odd behaviors when running web-based programs. Feel free to utilize the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once this works, clear the cache of your regular browser to eliminate piled-up data. If the issue persists, you can use another supported browser or device. This happens when the current one you're using has a temporary issue with the program.

If you want to view a snapshot of your business, you can read this article to help you with that: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to return here if you have additional questions about the Home dashboard display of your QBO account. We'll be willing to help. Take care, and have a good one.
