Change dates to financial year

When using the app on Android the reports date defaults to the Calendar year (1st of January - 31st of December) instead of the Australian tax year (1st of July - 30th of June). I was wondering if there is a way to change this permanently instead of doing custom dates for every report?

Change dates to financial year

Hi userchris-shoobert,

Yes, there is. This is done in the Company Settings under Advanced

You can set the first month of the financial year to July by default. If this is already set up and you're still seeing an issue with your reports please contact the Support Team for further assistance.

Thanks,

Rebecca

Nice to have you joining this thread, @957.

I’m here to help and ensure you’ll be able to change your W2 to 2020. Let’s go to the Setting/Gear icon and change the date from there. Here’s how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account.
  2. Go to the Gear/Setting icon.
  3. Click Tax profile under Taxes.
  4. Select 2020 from the Tax settings drop-down menu.
  5. Enter your 2020 W2 profile and click Save when done.1.JPG

If you’re unable to select the year 2020, I suggest accessing your account on a private window (incognito) and change the date from there. There are times that the browser stores too much data that affect your account performance.

Using a private window doesn’t store any data file. Thus, this helps us verify if this is a cache related issue. To get started, here are the keyboard shortcut keys in opening a private window depending on the browser you’re using:

  • For Google Chrome browser, press keys: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser, press keys: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browse, press keys: Command + Shift + N

Once opened, change your W2 to the year 2020 to double-check. If it works, I recommend your regular browser's cache. This will delete all the data files saved from your browser.

If the issue persists, try using other supported browsers. That way, we can check if this is a browser-integrated issue.
