Hey there, paul113,

 

Let's get this sorted out so you can lodge the client's Single Touch Payroll (STP).

 

You may have registered the supplier ABN, and that's why the setup failed. It is the business ABN that must be registered. The tax agent is NOT permitted to contact the ATO on behalf of the business. Therefore, an authorised contact of the business must contact the ATO to register. 

 

I've got the steps to enable electronic lodgement so you can use STP:

 

Electronic Lodgement & STP

  1. Go to Employees from the left navigation bar.
  2. Select the Payroll Settings tab, then click ATO Settings.
  3. Go to the Electronic Lodgement & STP tab.
  4. Contact the ATO on 1300 852 232 and provide them your Software Provider and Software ID or update your details through Access Manager.
  5. Click Enable Electronic Lodgement.
  6. Hit Enable Single Touch Payroll, then Confirm.

Update details via Access Manager

  1. Log in to Access Manager using your Administrator AUSkey or myGov credentials.
  2. Choose My hosted SBR software services from the left-hand menu.
  3. Select Notify the ATO of your hosted service.
  4. Search for KeyPay in the list, or alternatively search by entering KeyPay.
  5. Click the ABN link for KeyPay.
  6. Enter the software ID and click Next.
  7. Read the Notification statement, then hit Save.
  8. Click Enable Electronic Lodgement.
  9. Hit Enable Single Touch Payroll, then select Confirm.

This is a good question and I want to post this here so it can help everyone find it.

 

Log into your QuickBooks file and go to the Employees tab.

 

From there select Payroll Settings and go to ATO Settings.

 

You will find 2 tabs at the top, select the one titled Electronic Lodgement & STP.

 

You will find your Software ID as well as the Software Provider listed there.
