I want to assign costs(expenses) incurred to each client to show real revenue. I cant find where to do that? I have an essentials subscription so may not be a feature?

Hi Sixteen By Nine,

 

If you're wanting to assign both income and expenses to your clients/customers to show the gain/loss, track profitability and so on, QuickBooks Online uses the Projects feature to do so. However, it is available on the Plus subscription and if you currently using Essentials you would need to upgrade your current subscription in order to use it. See below for some resources on Projects for your reference; you can review these and see if it's a workable option for you prior to upgrading. Keep in mind that if you do upgrade to use the Projects feature and find it not suitable for your needs, you can downgrade to Essentials again as well.
