Setting Report number format preference (currency, general, etc...) in QBO

When down loading data from QBO it comes out as custom format and excel doesn't recognise it as currency. How can you down load data so excel can recognise it??

Setting Report number format preference (currency, general, etc...) in QBO

We can modify and ensure number format preferences in your file are accurately set up, accounts582. Let me provide information about this matter.

In QuickBooks, you can navigate to your Accounts and Settings in your file and make sure the specific Currency format option is enabled. To do this:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Advanced tab in the left menu.
  3. Go to Other Preferences, then click on the Pencil icon.
  4. Select the format you want to apply to your accounts in the Number format dropdown.
  5. Click Save, then Done.

However, if the same thing happens even after exporting the report, it's best to enter and modify the number format preference manually from the Excel file. This way, it allows the data to appear in a Currency format.

I'm sharing a screenshot below for reference.

Furthermore, you can create custom reports to get the data that matters to your business operations.

I'll leave this thread available so you can always reply in the comments below if there's anything else you need further assistance with when managing reports in your file. Keep safe and have a good one!
