We need help ASAP! We were trying to clean up our COA. When we pull our P&L what you see in the attachment happened with two different "Parent GL codes" as to where the sub accounts are not pulling correctly for the P&L summary but are for the detail. How do we fix this? I have looked at each GL to make sure their paths were all connected the same per each parent GL code, they are. Everything below the Total A&G line should be above it. Help!
Hi WRLC22,
Thanks for posting in the Community! Sub-accounts should be reported on the parent account on the Profit and Loss Summary and Profit and Loss Detail report.
I've got some steps to help fix this issue. First, sign in to your QuickBooks Online account using a private browser. This helps isolate the issue since it doesn’t store data in the cache. Here are the following keyboard shortcuts:
If it works, kindly go back to your regular browser and clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online. Restart your browser right after.
You can also try to log in to your account using other supported browsers (like Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge) if the steps above didn’t work.
In any case you encounter the same behaviour after doing the browser troubleshooting steps above, kindly contact our support team for further investigation.
Feel free to post again if you have any other questions. I'll be around to help you.
Hi WRLC22,
Thanks for getting back to us and for trying out the basic troubleshooting steps.
I'd recommend checking the accounts like the Payroll Service Fees and Prof Organizations Memberships in your Chart of accounts to make sure they're set up as sub account. Here's how to check the account:
Repeat the same process for all other accounts. And then, try to generate a new Profit and Loss report to check the accounts.
If the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. That way, one of our support agents can further check your account in a secure form. Here's how:

I went through each account and they are all built the same. Sub accounts are checked. I also called Intuit and spent 2.5 hours on the phone with them and they couldn't figure it out either.
Hi WRLC22,
