Connecting to the ATO for BAS e-lodgement - errors

If you are following the steps provided in this guide to connecting to the ATO for BAS e-lodgment and see the warning 'ERROR: SBR.GEN.AUTH.006', you will need to check to be sure you have provided the correct software provider (Exactor) and correct software ID to the ATO. The above linked article provides the steps to retrieve this information; if you are unsure what your software ID is and are no longer able to retrieve it, please contact our support team.

If you are following the steps provided in this guide to connecting to the ATO for BAS e-lodgment and see the warning 'ERROR: CMN.ATO.AS.EM054 - Enter a Branch for the ABN or TFN you have provided', you will not be able to connect your file to the ATO for the purposes of BAS/IAS e-lodgement***. Currently, branches are unable to be supported for e-lodgement and if your business is set up with branch number(s) with the ATO you will not be able to lodge through QuickBooks Online.

**Please keep in mind that if you see this particular error, you will still be able to prepare the BAS and mark it as lodged in QuickBooks Online, you will just need to lodge it with the ATO externally. Please also note that this does not mean you are unable to connect your file to the ATO for the purposes of Single Touch Payroll reporting as these are two different connections - see here for a helpful guide on setting up STP.
