Hi there, Sppumping. You can add a fuel levy to your invoices by creating it as a service item and adding it as a line item.
However, please note that QuickBooks doesn't currently support automatic percentage-based surcharges on invoices. This means that you will need to manually calculate the levy amount based on your total and enter it as a fixed value.
Here's how to do it:
Once created, easily select the Fuel Levy item to add it your new or existing invoices. You can also add a note in the Message on invoice box to explain to your customer why the charge is a fixed amount instead of a percentage. When you’re done, click Save and Close.
Once this is complete, you will have a fuel surcharge item ready to use when invoicing your customers. Then, you can run a Sales by Product/Service report later to see exactly how much you have collected in fuel surcharges over the year.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions. We're happy to help.
