I have linked my ING bank account to Quickbooks but the connection has stopped working and I have lost some of my data. Any ideas on what might have happened?

I’ll explain some possible reasons why you have lost some of your data, Ross.

If your bank hasn't been disconnected from the program, you can refresh the bank connection. If nothing happens, let's edit the sign-in information and connect again.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then click Manage accounts.
  2. Hit Refresh all.
  3. Click the three vertical dots, then select Edit sign-in info.

If the data is still lost, please contact your bank provider to see if there are ongoing updates on their end. This is one of the possible reasons why the connection has stopped and your data has been lost.

However, if your bank has been disconnected from the program, this can cause you to lose your data. Reconnecting your bank can help to restore them.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then click Manage accounts.
  2. Select Connect another account.
  3. Please enter the name or URL of your bank and select your bank from the list.
  4. Enter your sign-in credentials, then hit Connect.
  5. Select the accounts you want to connect.
  6. Hit Continue.

I'll add this helpful resource you can check to guide you on organizing downloaded bank transactions in QuickBooks: Categorise a transaction.
