Managing employee pay rates more efficiently

To efficiently manage your employee pay rates, you can set up a pay rate template which works as a pre-defined set of pay rates that you can apply to your employees. To do this, follow the steps below:

1. Click on the Payroll Settings.
2. Under Pay Conditions, choose Pay Rate Templates.
3. Click on Add.
4. Enter your desired template name.
5. Select the default Pay Category under the Primary Pay Category section.
6. You have the option to edit the Super Threshold and Quarterly maximum super contribution base, however, it is recommended that these settings be left as they are.
7. From the list of Pay Rates, tick the boxes for each applicable pay rate to enable it.
8. Indicate the Rate per Hour or per Unit depending on the pay category chosen.
9. Scroll down and hit Save.

To apply the pay rate template to your individual employees, the steps are as follows:

1. On the list of employees, click the specific employee name.
2. Under Pay Run Settings, choose Pay Rates.
3. Under the Apply the following Pay Rates Template, choose the template that you have set up.
4. Scroll down and hit Save.

NOTE: A padlock next to the pay category name indicates that this pay category is linked to the pay rate template. If you wish to override the Rate for this specific employee only, tick the Override box above the Rate.
