Does anyone else get logged out of the Quickbooks app randomly? I use it to track my mileage and then I have to back track to see when it logged me out.

Thanks for checking that one. In that case I'll provide some basic troubleshooting steps, and if this does not resolve the issue I would suggest you contact our Support Team directly for further investigation. 

 

Step 1 - Refresh your App data.

  • Select the three horizontal lines at the bottom right of the app
  • Scroll down and select Help & Feedback
  • Select Refresh data. Then, try testing it on a trip. 

Step 2 - Uninstall and reinstall the app on your device. Once reinstalled, ensure the Background App Refresh setting is enabled again, then try testing it on a trip. 

 

If these steps still don't help, please reach out to Support for further assistance. They will most likely ask for your OS version, mobile app version and device model along with any other details you can provide.

Hi there, rickfox-foxsafet.

 

QuickBooks Online has an automatic timeout feature and the inactivity time is based on the time you last clicked Save. You'll want to change the Settings from your company to keep you logged in for 3 hours. This prevents closing the program automatically. You can follow the steps I outlined below:

 

  1. Go to the Settings icon from the top right.
  2. Choose Account and settings.
  3. From the left panel, select the Advanced tab.
  4. In the Other Preferences section, click the pencil icon.
  5. Set the hour drop-down arrow from the Sign me out if inactive for.
  6. Press Save, then Done.

Hi, 

 

Thanks for your response. We may be at cross purposes here. I mean the ios app logs me out and actually forgets who I am. Instead of just using my face ID to open the app, it's forgotten all of my login credentials data. And when it's signed out of the ios App, those vehicle KMs are not being tracked. I've had to go back to using a log book, then manually process the log book trips into the desktop portal.

 

I apologise if I wasn't clear in my initial post, I hope this clears it up?

Hi rickfox-foxsafet,

 

There is an option on an iPhones called Background App Refresh that you may need to enable. To do so, go to your phone's main Settings page, then select QuickBooks. Toggle Background App Refresh to the 'On' position. This should allow the app to run in the background and continue tracking your trips etc. I hope that helps!

I can confirm that toggle was switched "On" already.

I've tried the suggested uninstall/reinstall approach and it seems to be working well.
