Bank error 185 means your financial institution needs more information after you’ve entered your login credentials.
This may indicate that your bank has additional security measures in place, such as answering a security question or entering a one-time passcode, for you to complete before proceeding.
If your bank asks a security question, enter your answer. QuickBooks saves your responses, but you may see the error again if there are multiple questions. If the question doesn’t appear, try another browser or disable your pop-up blocker.
When your bank requests a one-time password, retrieve it (via text, call, or device) and enter it whenever you see Error 185.
If the issue persists, sign in to QuickBooks using an incognito or private browser, or try other browser troubleshooting options.
