Can i add payroll to an existing quickbooks online account?

Hi kleinyehudah20-g,

 

Let me show you how to add payroll to your existing QuickBooks Online account.

 

  1. Go to Employees or Payroll tab.
  2. Select Choose your plan.
  3. Select Free 30-day trial on the payroll plan you choose.
  4. Enter your Business Details, Contact Details and Payroll Details and select Sign up.

 

Once done, you'll be able to add an employee and create pay run. To subscribe on your payroll plan, you can follow these steps.

 

  1. Go to Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select Billing and Subscription.
  3. On QuickBooks Payroll section, select Subscribe.
  4. Enter your payment details and select Subscribe.

Can i add payroll to an existing quickbooks online account?

Hi!

When I follow these instructions I get an error saying “looks like your billing details are no longer working.. “ but I am subscribed through the iPhone App Store. Is there a way to add payroll to my subscription while being billed through the App Store? 
I have seen that there’s a workaround to cancel my App Store subscription and re-subscribe through other means but this will delay my use of the payroll function beyond when I need it. Thank you.

You can't add payroll if your QuickBooks Online subscription is under the Apple App store or Google Play. You may need to switch your billing to Intuit. You'll need to contact our support team to help you with the billing migration. Once done, cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription under the app store to avoid duplicate charges.

 

After switching your billing to Intuit, you can manage your subscription directly on Intuit website. Then you can follow these steps to sign up for payroll.

 

  1. Login to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to Employees or Payroll tab.
  3. Select Choose your plan and select the plan that best suits your business needs.
  4. Enter your Business Details, Contact Details and Payroll Details.
  5. Select Sign Up.
