Can I separate wages by class?

You can use and set up the class and location tracking in QuickBooks Online to assign classes and separate wages. Here's how to set up class and location tracking:

1. Click on the Settings icon and click on Account & Settings.
2. Click on the Advanced tab, and go to Categories.
3. Check Classes
4. Click on Save and Done.

To set up a class on payroll settings:

1. Click on the Employees tab, and click on Payroll Settings.
2. Click on Locations.
3. Click on Add button, and enter the location name.
4. Under QuickBooks Location and QuickBooks Class, set and enter the details.
5. Click on Save.
6. From the Locations page, you can also click on Import locations to easily add the class to the list.

Then, you need to make sure to turn on split by location in your Payroll Chart of Accounts. Here's how:

1. Click on the Payroll Settings.
2. Click on Chart of Accounts.
3. Click on Default accounts, and tick on the transaction you wanted to split.
4. Click on Save.
