I have incorrectly reported a job keeper end FN16 date for my employee who is still eligible till Dec.   Do I report in the next pay run job keeper start FN17 or do I have to create an update pay event to fix this?

Hi Di24,

If you are able to unlock the pay run, you could then remove the end FN16 date from the employee's payroll and then run an Update Event with the ATO.

  • When in the pay run select Pay run Actions
  • Unlock Pay run

As you removed the end date, and if the ATO still has them as eligible, it will continue as normal through to December. I've attached here steps and info regarding how to lodge a Update Event, which will update the ATO of all changes to Employees.

In the event the pay run cannot be unlocked, and you are unable to remove the FN16 date, you will need to consider doing an Ad-Hoc pay to add in for the employee a start date FN16 date and lodge this with the ATO.

  • Please see the steps here of how to set up an Ad-hoc pay run
  • In the pay run would would want to back date, by changing the ending date of the pay period, to allow you to have this payrun act as a way to notify the ATO of the FN16 start date.
  • Lodge an Update Event with the ATO, which will send the new information through, and the employee will be eligible for December rand continue as normal.

If you are unsure of any of the these steps, don't hesitate to reach out to us by clicking here.

Thanks,
