It sounds like perhaps a browser issue is affecting the Employee's tab from opening correctly. QuickBooks Online uses browser cache and cookies to run faster. But sometimes these can also block web pages from loading.
Using the guide here you can clear your cache and cookies before trying again, which also includes trying a different browser as well if the issue continues.
