Thanks for bringing this situation to our attention. I'm here to get the help you need in categorizing your transactions to its correct payee.

 

I have checked this issue here in our system, and we have received no reports from other users getting the same challenges when assigning a payee.

 

To get started, I recommend accessing your account in a Private browsing window first to verify if this is caused by the system or your browser.

 

Here are the keyboard shortcuts that will help you accomplish this in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once done, access your account again and check if your employee's name is already there. If it works, to ensure this doesn't happen again, it's a good idea to clear the cache of the browser you're using.

We have a client who this is happening too. They are seeing it in their computer & we are seeing it the same also.

Hi View1,

 

Let's go ahead and add the employee using the steps below to be able to see them in the payee dropdown. Here's how:

 

  1. Click on the + New button.
  2. Click on Single Time activity.
  3. Click on Name and click on Add new.
  4. A pop up box will show and enter the employee's name and set Type to Employee.
  5. Click on Save.

 

Then, go back to the transaction and we should be able to see the employee's name.

I'm also having issues with this. I thought I would wait a few weeks to see if it was just me.

I have added a new employee a month ago now, I haven't been able to assign him as a Payee to his payment in my Bank Transactions. Both of those methods have not worked mentioned above, as the new employees name has never popped up as an option. I've looked in all the settings etc and I can't see anything about "adding" him as a payee option. Ive never had this issue before until recently. It's also happened with another entity I work for with up to three new employees I can't assign their transactions too.

Appreciate you trying the troubleshooting steps provided in the thread. Let's also try using the Sync employees option to make sure the data in the payroll file syncs with QuickBooks Online. Here's how:

 

  1. Click on the Employees or Payroll tab.
  2. Click on the drop down arrow next to Add Employees and select Export Employees.
  3. Then, Data type should be Sync with QuickBooks and under Employee, search the employee name.
  4. Click on Sync.

Then, let's go back to the For review tab to see if the employee name shows up in the list.

 

If the issue persists, I would recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. That way, they can further check your account in a secure form.
