Xero to Quickbooks Payroll

I'm migrating from Xero to Quickbooks on 31st May 2023. I'd appreciate any guidance on anyone who has been through a similar process, especially with the payroll and transferring balances from Xero to Quickbooks. There isn't a lot out there telling you where to get all of the balances from Xero to enter into Quickbooks, and I don't want to miss anything.

Xero to Quickbooks Payroll

Welcome to the Community, bi_harrington!

We have MMC Convert our data migration supplier that help us migrate customer data over from other accounting software programs.

In order to successfully start the conversion you will need to have a brand new QuickBooks Online file that is either the Essentials or Plus subscription. To give you an overview, here's how does the process work.

  1. Sign up for QuickBooks Online (if you haven't already).
  2. Get your existing file up to date.
  3. Reset your QuickBooks Account (if required).
  4. Place a conversion request.
  5. Once the conversion is complete, review and approve your data.

For more comprehensive information, you can check on this article: Frequently asked questions about bringing your data to QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to drop a comment below if you have any other questions, we're here to help. Have a nice day!

Xero to Quickbooks Payroll

Thanks, but I was told that MMC doesn't transfer any payroll data. We are using them to do our main data transfer already. I am a little surprised, as a Quickbooks employee, that you were not aware of this? Hence, I am enquiring about transferring my payroll employee balances from Xero to Quickbooks. Are you now saying that MMC so transfer all of the employee information from the Xero payroll?

Thanks for your response, bi_harrington. Yes, payroll data is not included on the data transfer. Thus, you may need to enter manually your historical payroll data and enter payroll opening balances
