Hello caroline-m-kupka,

It's exciting to hear that your business needs have grown and that you're now using QuickBooks Online. Making sure you get all set up is key, and I'd be happy to point you toward a resource that can help with making the switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Self-Employed and QuickBooks Online are both great options for those running businesses, one geared toward self-employed entrepreneurs and the other toward small business owners. These are two separate versions of the software, so rather than an upgrade, you've changed from one to the other. For these kinds of situations, we have an article with step-by-step guidance. Since it sounds like you've already got a QuickBooks Online account, I encourage you to review the If you don't see the Explore QuickBooks option of the following article: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online

It's also important to note that, as separate products, QuickBooks Self-Employed and QuickBooks Online each have separate login portals. While both can be accessed by visiting the QuickBooks Canada website, when you hover over Sign In, you'll want to choose QuickBooks Self-Employed to login and access that data or QuickBooks Online to login and access that data. Even if both logins use the same information, make sure you're picking the right login portal so that the program can understand how to read and present your data in the appropriate interface.

Here are some additional links that are useful for getting started in and getting to know QuickBooks Online.

If you'd like an extra hand with getting set up in QuickBooks Online, I encourage you to reach out to the QuickBooks Online support team outside of this community forum. The team will be able to help you get set up and can walk you through the program to make sure you're comfortable moving forward. Here's how to reach out.

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.

Social MediaFacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
Support hours are from Monday to Friday between 9a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.

Take care!
