How can I reset my finger print sensor log in?

Hi there Keemberly,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! It sounds like you're using the QuickBooks Online mobile app on your iOS device, such as an iPhone or iPad. This is definitely an awesome way to access all of the great features that are built into QuickBooks Online while on-the-go. I'm an iPhone user and love having the ability to use Touch ID to log into QuickBooks and other apps, so I want to make sure you're able to get it set-up correctly.

Since it seems like you've already set up Touch ID within QuickBooks, the best approach to reset it is to turn the function off and then on again. Here's how to do that if you're using an iPhone:

  1. From the Menu ☰, choose the Settings gear in the upper left corner.
  2. Select Touch ID and Passcode.
  3. Slide the switch for Touch ID from the on position (blue) to the off position (grey), then back on again.
  4. You'll need to use your touch ID to confirm the change.
  5. Close, then re-open the QuickBooks Online app to see your changes.

if you're using an iPad, you'll find the steps in this article: Use a Passcode or Touch ID to sign into the QuickBooks Online app (iOS only).

If you're looking to re-set the Touch ID function on your device all together, you'll want to refer to Apple support. I found an article that I'll share below that you may find helpful:

If you have any difficulty re-setting Touch ID from your QuickBooks settings, uninstalling and reinstalling the app is a great way to troubleshoot. Since QuickBooks Online is a cloud-based accounting software, your data will be saved and once you sign in again you'll be able to pick up where you left off.

I'll be here if you need any additional help on this. Have a great Monday!
