Hi diverseledgers,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Online community! I'm excited to hear that you're using the program to help your clients manage their books.

QuickBooks Online's Fiscal Year is configured using the first month alone. I can see why your clients' more precise date would call for more than that, but it's not currently available in the product. It sounds like you've found where to change the beginning fiscal year month, but in case you haven't, here are the steps.

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right of the page.
  2. Choose Account and Settings.
  3. Click Advanced.
  4. Click the Accounting section to modify it.
  5. Choose the appropriate month from the First month of fiscal year drop-down.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Done to exit Account and Settings.

To make sure your client and their accountant are seeing the figures they need for the fiscal year, I recommend filtering reports to that specific date range. They can even save the customization to easily pull up later. Learn more about filtering and customization steps here: How to customize reports

Don't hesitate to ask more questions! Have a great evening.
