Hi canadango,
Running a small business comes with tons of changes as your work evolves. While I'd hate to see you go, I realize you must make the choice that's right for you and your business. I'd be happy to explain how you can cancel your subscription for QuickBooks Online.
It's important to note that if you're paying for your subscription through the App Store or Google Play, you'll have to contact their support teams in order to cancel your account.
If you're paying Intuit directly, you can cancel the account in-product.
1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Select Account and Settings.
3. Click Billing and Subscription.
4. Select Cancel Subscription.
That's all there is to it. Once cancelled, you'll have 365 days of read-only access to your account, after which time your data will be permanently removed from our servers.
I wish you and your business all the best moving forward!
Cheers.
There is no option to cancel my subscription on the screen
see attached file.
Please cancel my subscription and send confirmation to [email address removed]
Thank you
Bill Brown
Hello Bill,
I want to make sure you're able to cancel your QuickBooks subscription if you no longer need the service. While I'm sad to see you go, I know that you have to make the best decision and find the best fit for your business. I'll make sure you have the steps you need to cancel your subscription.
I'm not seeing an attachment, but that's okay. I've still got some instructions I can share with you to help. As for cancelling on your behalf, the Community automatically removes things such as your email to protect your personal information. Even if it hadn't, however, the Community isn't a forum where you can share enough information for us to cancel on your behalf. We have a few more details we'd verify to make absolutely sure we're speaking with someone authorized to cancel the account.
I was, however, able to use your screen name in my system and I see that you seem to have a QuickBooks Self-Employed account. The steps to cancel that kind of account are a bit different than what's outlined above for QuickBooks Online, and you can review them here: Cancel your QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription
In case you are looking to cancel a QuickBooks Online account, here's our article about that, which gives more detail than given in the original response on this thread: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription
With these articles, you should have a better sense of how to go about cancelling your subscription. I'll leave contact details below for both the QuickBooks Self-Employed and the QuickBooks Online teams just in case you need them however. Our agents are happy to help you when you're running into trouble.
Before that contact information, however, I recommend changing your screen name here in Community. As I mentioned, I was able to use it to look up your account, and it's important to keep those kinds of details private. Here's how you can change the screen name to something else.
I recommend doing this even though you're cancelling, just to make sure that unauthorized people don't have this information.
Now that that's taken care of, here's support's contact information.

Please cancel Quickbooks trial
Hi there Phoneix,
Making sure your unused accounts are cancelled is important. It's important for you to make the best decisions to help you with your business. I can provide some information on this.
A trial of QuickBooks Online or Self-Employed lasts 30 days. The trial can't be cancelled, but once the trial is over, the account is cancelled by default unless you enter your payment information within the account. If you've already put your payment information in the account, you can follow the steps given above for how to cancel your account.
If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out here.
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
